How to Build a Night-Time Skincare Routine for Glowing Skin

Your skin does its most important work while you sleep. Cell turnover peaks, collagen production increases and your skin repairs the damage accumulated during the day. What you apply before bed directly supports — or undermines — this process. Here's how to build a night-time routine that works.

Why your evening routine matters more than your morning one

During the day, your routine is mostly about protection — SPF, antioxidants, keeping your barrier intact. At night, there's no UV exposure to worry about, no makeup to sit through, no environmental stressors to defend against. This means the active ingredients you apply at night can focus entirely on repair and renewal — and your skin, in its heightened overnight repair state, is more receptive to them.

Step 1 — Remove everything properly

Start with a thorough cleanse. If you wore SPF or makeup, always double cleanse — first with a biphasic remover or oil cleanser, then with your regular cleanser. Clean skin is essential for everything that follows. Our BiPhasic Make-up Remover followed by the Gentle Cleansing Foam is an ideal double cleanse combination.

Step 2 — Exfoliate (2-3 times per week, not every night)

Exfoliating acids speed up cell turnover — the process by which old, dull skin cells are replaced with fresh new ones. This is the step that makes the biggest visible difference to skin texture, tone and brightness over time. Use 2 to 3 times per week, never every night. Our Glycolic Acid Exfoliating Toner or AHA Peeling Concentrate are both excellent here.

Step 3 — Eye cream

The eye area is the thinnest skin on the face and loses collagen fastest. A targeted eye cream applied nightly makes a cumulative difference over weeks and months. Our Peptide Smoothing Eye Cream with vitamins C and E is ideal for the evening.

Step 4 — Treatment serum

This is the most important step of your evening routine. Choose your serum based on your primary concern. For anti-ageing and renewal: our Natural Retinol Alternative Oil Serum or Peptide Anti-Aging Serum. For brightening and dark spots: our Exosome and Niacinamide Serum. For hydration: our Collagen Boost Serum.

Step 5 — Night cream

Finish with a night cream richer than your day moisturiser to lock in all the layers beneath and support overnight repair. Our Ceramide Barrier Night Cream strengthens the skin barrier while you sleep. Our Collagen Anti-Age Night Cream is ideal for anyone focused on firming and anti-ageing. For dry skin, our Nourishing Rich Cream, Fragrance Free provides deep, lasting overnight nourishment.

One last tip

Consistency matters more than any individual product. Even a simple, well-chosen evening routine done every night will produce better results than an elaborate one done occasionally. Pick your products, build the habit and give them 6 to 8 weeks before assessing.
