What is niacinamide?
Niacinamide is a form of vitamin B3, a water-soluble vitamin that plays a key role in keeping skin healthy. Unlike some actives that only suit certain skin types, niacinamide is gentle enough for sensitive skin and effective enough to genuinely move the needle on multiple concerns simultaneously.
What does it do?
At concentrations of 2 to 5%, niacinamide has been clinically shown to reduce the appearance of enlarged pores, fade dark spots and hyperpigmentation, improve uneven skin tone, strengthen the skin barrier, reduce excess sebum in oily skin, and calm redness and inflammation. It's rare to find an ingredient that addresses so many concerns at once.

Almost everyone. It's particularly beneficial for oily or blemish-prone skin, anyone dealing with post-acne marks or dark spots, and anyone whose skin looks dull or uneven. It's also excellent for mature skin, where it helps strengthen the barrier and improve the appearance of fine lines.
How to use it
Niacinamide works well in both moisturisers and serums. Use morning and evening after cleansing. It layers well with vitamin C, retinol alternatives and exfoliating acids without causing irritation for most skin types.
What results can you expect?
Most people notice a difference in skin tone and texture within 4 to 8 weeks. Post-acne marks take longer — typically 8 to 12 weeks — but with daily use the improvement is real.
